It is now January 15 of the year 2015. Four years ago was a time we will never forget. So much has happened. Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Morocco, Iran and many more countries are all democracies now with a new elected parliament.
I remember well; it was April 3 in 2011 and in only 3 months time 2 dictators were removed by young people who demanded freedom, dignity and a future. Ben Ali and Mubarak. Both responsible for over 600 people killed in the beginning of 2011. They are now history. On that day I was watching the news and realised that the revolution of Libya wouldn’t be over yet for quite some time. Coalition forces from the United Nations and the Arab League were supporting the freedom fighters by striking air attacks on Gaddafi’s forces.
This brutal dictator is now gone. I am not sure but I believe he fled the country in the beginning of May 2011. Some people say, he might be in Chad but I have heard also people saying he was killed by revolutionaries in the battle on Tripoli.
The National Transitional Council announced elections in September 2011 and the new democratic government seated in Tripoli now. Everywhere in the country you see people reconstructing buildings, roads and the new government promised to set up one of the best educational systems in the world and modern hospitals with the best doctors.
All these new governments of all former dictator ruled countries are meeting every month now to discuss the developments in their countries. I have even heard that they want to remove their borders to offer the people travel freely.
Europe and the US are making good progress to work closely with Africa and the Middle East. They have promised to never support a corrupt government anymore and only deal with fair trade contracts.
The Israelis withdrew themselves from Palestine and teared down that ugly wall. Both nations are making good progress and it looks like peace finally came.
To be honest, back in 2011 I thought it will never go this fast. But now in this year 2015 the world is a much better place…
